The attached image was just accepted for a juried show in Westchester County, NY opening in April.
The funny thing is, it's a photo of my daughter drawing--and the picture that she is drawing was just shown in a county-wide high school show at the Katonah Museum of Art.
I know it can't compare to the photo of Mick's newest addition--but I thought it would be nice to share.
A beautiful day here in New York--Spring may find us yet!

That's a beautiful photo Marianne. I would love to have painted that scene. Lovely colours and composition too.
Congratulations to your daughter as well, on getting her drawing displayed. I hope she continues to have success with her art.

Wonderful Marianne! A good friend once told me, it's not about what others think of your work, it's about whether or not you like it. Wish I could stand up to him and tell him emphatically, that it is ALSO about the pleasure you get when there is tangible evidence that others see what you see!

Thanks.
Louise, I find it impossible to predict the ones that other people will choose. I submitted a few for the show and had my daughter and husband help me narrow down the choices. The one that the jury chose was one that the two of them liked. I thought it would be too personal to be chosen for the show--I'm glad I got my family's input. And I agree that it is really nice to have someone else appreciate my work, especially work that is so personal.
